We met Lance and Shannon by chance when they drove by our chapel in search for a wedding venue months ago.  We gave them a tour and chatted about everything…travel, family, photography.  Months later we heard from S + L again. They had decided to have their wedding at Cecil Green House in Vancouver and asked us if we would photograph their wedding.  Of course, we said yes! 

There’s so much we could say about L + S.  They are in love and beautiful together and their love of life is infectious. They were a joy to photograph!  I think you will see that in their photos.

The ceremony was held at Cecil Green House at UBC.  A gorgeous venue but it was the guests and the couple’s  fun-loving personalities and the attention they put towards every little detail that made their wedding day even more special.

I love the homemade jam and jars for the guests.

Today is our anniversary and this is us. Six years ago and today.

On August 28 in 2004 we celebrated our own wedding with our six children standing up for us, and with our families celebrating with us and supporting us.  That has meant so much to us.  Because of what we do we are always reminded what it means to join two separate lives and two families into one.  It’s not always easy, it’s not even always possible, but it is life and it makes it beautiful.

Today, the…world has been transformed

–decked out with flowers and ribbons,

A feast, a celebration,

Rich with laughter,

Kind thoughts and recollections.
